Velvet blazer, Gap denim shirt (similar), jeans, AE belt (similar), similar shoes
Ok, so this blazer is technically "poppy" not orange, but "poppy you happy" just doesn't sound as good as "orange you happy..." I have been in love with this blazer since this. And now it's on sale! I have so many ideas for this guy so I hope you like it because you'll be seeing more of it to come. It's just one of those pieces you can pop on and brighten your day and the velvet is so cozy and warm...bring it on winter!
This is my segue to my new year's resolutions...no worries, they're quick!
- Get more creative (and courageous): I know I have it in me. I get dressed and look in the mirror and think jeez I'm gonna get crazy looks from all these country people around me (I really need to move back to the city lol) so I tone it down a bit, instead of truly wearing what I want. I want to use more color and pieces in more unexpected ways.
- Save $: I'm going to try really hard to set 10% of each of my paychecks back into savings. Along with this, when I buy clothing (because this will obviously have to be cut back a lot) I want to purchase investment pieces. Items that will look better now and last me longer. This way I'm not buying the same/similar items over and over.
- Tone up: My booty is in need of some maintenance (ok, honestly it's past the maintenance stage). It needs some serious assistance. Along, with getting my Beyonce on I might as well work on my arms and love handles and anything else that's jiggly. I want this to be achievable so the goal: 30 min workouts 4 days a week and down tons more water...we'll see how long this last.
- Be more organized: I want to get this blog in order. I want it to truly be a resource to all of my readers and be something you enjoy reading! I believe getting more organized will help to make this blog the most that it can be and in turn allow you all to enjoy it even more!...this resolution will also help with the clothes pile sitting on my dresser just begging to be put away.
Do you believe in the fresh start of the new year? Did you make any resolutions? I know it's cliche but I really love the idea of getting to wipe the slate clean and reset my priorities! Cheers to an amazing two thousand and twelve to come!

Cool blazer. Love this easy look.
ReplyDeleteYes, we all need to save more $$. I think that's a fantastic goal for 2012.
